17 Heroes is a non-profit organization that strives to bring more awareness about organ donation to SE Kansas and beyond.
Clete Hudson, founder of 17 Heroes, was the recipient of a liver transplant in 2023. Working with other donor organizations like Gift of Life and Midwest Transplant in Kansas City, Hudson will travel with other recipients to help educate middle school and high school students about being an organ donor.
Volunteers will also attend community festivals, host golf tournaments and sporting clay shoots, and organize other fundraisers in Chanute and surrounding communities benefitting organ recipients and their families.
